WILLIE GRADY

Screenwriter. Creative Director. Filmmaker. Photographer. Author. Traveler. Foodie. Teacher. Public Speaker. Those are some of the titles used to describe Mississippi-native Willie Grady. At the beginning of 2015, he left a reputable, comfortable, and secure position at the largest tech company in the world so that he could get dirty, be uncomfortable, work a little more chaotically, and carry an oversized camera around different parts of the world. Although challenging, he often admits that he hasn't looked back since. In March 2015, Willie created Screenwriter601 Films and re-entered an industry he had fallen in love with many years prior. In recent years he has made both impressive strives and remarkable achievements in various disciplines. He has worked to personally place an indistinctive mark on different aspects of the American Entertainment industry and travel videos at large. He along with other young African-American,  Asian-American, and Hispanic-American filmmakers are leading the charge and reigning in a new generation of arts and documentaries, that can't be defined by more traditional, norms of the past.

"For a long time the system of filmmaking, whether it's a feature film or an indie documentary has been what most would call predictable and closed to outsiders, however, I strongly believe that others, including myself, represent a new school of filmmakers that don't necessarily conform to the typical mold. I believe that as a writer you can create material that is both entertaining and impactful as well as educational for the community that you're trying to entertain. I've always been more aspirational than most, despite most doors of opportunity closing in my face due to my skin color, my hair, or my unorthodox resume. But..... as my Grandmother and Mother would say - don't swing for the fences. Swing for the moon and keep swinging until you get there." - Willie Grady

W. Grady's photos, both internationally and domestically have garnered acclaim in various mediums, and have been featured in several publications and advertisements.

His style of writing and narration is artistically comparable to that of filmmaking greats such as Eric Roth, Quentin Tarantino, and David Koepp, while his directing style is more comparable to that of David Fincher, Alejandro González Iñárritu and Sergio Leone among others.

Willie Grady is currently working on a new book regarding modern new world philosophy, a new adventure epic novel series, he's collaborating on a Japanese manga project, and has a longstanding original screenplay in the works- "Musa of Mali."
